The 12th century Buddhist poet, Saigyo Hoshi, wrote the following after a visit to a Shinto Grand Temple:

    God’s here?

    Who can know?

    Not I.

    Yet I sigh

    And tears flow

    Tear on tear.

The world longs to experience ultimate reality. People want to believe in and experience a being and power far greater than themselves. All human religions are merely the human search for God.

IMG_0090 2The Christian faith is radically different. We believe God searches for humans. God sent his only Son, Jesus, to become human so we could know him, experience his love, and know what it is to be truly human. The message of Christmas is the most needed message in the world today. We’re not alone. Life has meaning. There is a purpose driving our existence. There is One who loves us and has reached out to us that we might know and love him.

This Christmas, my prayer is that you would know Jesus and live in such a way that your words and actions help others know and experience God’s presence and grace.

I’m Chris

Welcome to Flourishing Life, a space designed to help you pursue the abundant life God offers everyone. Jesus said in John 10:10, “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly” (ESV). I’m convinced God created the world for flourishing human life. However, we’ve all contributed to the brokenness in the world and our own lives. Many don’t even realize a better way is possible. My hope for this blog is that you’ll discover the life God has always intended for you, the ones you love, and the world.
