The Impulse to Share Good News

“We have found the Messiah.” – Saint Andrew (John 1:41b)

We’re wired to share what delights us. When we stumble onto something good—an unforgettable meal, a new song, a helpful piece of software, a gadget we love, or even a big win from our favorite team—we rarely keep it to ourselves. Something in us wants to pass good news along. It’s almost automatic.

So it’s no surprise that when Andrew met Jesus, his very first impulse was to share the news with his brother. John tells it simply and beautifully:

“He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, ‘We have found the Messiah’ (which means Christ). He brought him to Jesus.” — John 1:41–42a (ESV)

Andrew didn’t just tell Simon—he brought him to Jesus. That’s the natural impact of encountering Christ. When we truly meet him, something comes alive in us that wants others to meet him too.

And why wouldn’t it? This is the greatest news in the world—good news about Jesus Christ. For those of us who have tasted his mercy, grace, and salvation, this news has changed everything: our eternity and our present. It’s the best news ever, and it’s too good to keep to ourselves.

I want everyone to know this Good News, to experience this Gospel, because it is the best news they will ever hear—and the only news that can transform a life forever.

I’m Chris

Welcome to Flourishing Life, a space designed to help you pursue the abundant life God offers everyone. Jesus said in John 10:10, “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly” (ESV). I’m convinced God created the world for flourishing human life. However, we’ve all contributed to the brokenness in the world and our own lives. Many don’t even realize a better way is possible. My hope for this blog is that you’ll discover the life God has always intended for you, the ones you love, and the world.
